Understanding Neighborhood Issues Through Engagement
WE ARE ONE COMMUNITY.
There's a real spirit of togetherness that makes the Maumee community feel like extended family. The #WeAreMaumee mantra runs deep. We may not always agree, but we are ONE community. We are one community that has always had each other’s back, always enjoyed each other’s company, and have lived through the changing times together. We celebrate each other’s successes and support each other through our hardships. That has always been the spirit of Maumee. But recently, that spirit has gone astray and the implications have not only shaken up our spirit and sense of community, but could also affect our great city of Maumee for decades to come.
As a community, we need to remember who we are and trust each other through these challenging situations. We need to support our elected representatives who stepped up to serve our community and are looking at the options we have and choosing the best one. They, like us, are humans who do the best they can, and occasionally make mistakes, but have shown us that they learn from those mistakes in an effort to serve Maumee better. We need to remember that they are also our neighbors, community members, and friends; they’re people that we live, work, and play with; and they feel the same effects from their decisions as the rest of us and have the same concerns.
We are all part of one COMMUNITY.

Who we are
UNITE Maumee is a group of Maumee community members who want to lower the temperature of the current environment that has divided so many of us, and move forward respectfully as a community.
How to unite
There are many things YOU can do. But the simplest is to practice empathy and patience. Remember, we are all neighbors.
What’s the point
We are ONE community, so let’s put an end to the division and come together as neighbors to support and respect those we live, work, and play with!

We believe being an advocate for community unification and leading by example is an effective way to lower the temperature of the current environment that has divided our city. The surrounding communities have witnessed the grievances within our community, but let’s show them and ourselves that we can work through them in a calm, respectful, and truthful manner.
